Herts Development Meet 2006

Watford Swimming club where well represented at the Herts Development Gala at The Venue swimming pool on Saturday 18^thNovember. With swimmers taking part in various events including 50m sprints to the difficult 200m Individual Medley (this involves swimming each of the four strokes). All the swimmers did a fantastic with Zoe Stewart finished the individual medley in a personal best time of 2.59.35. Jack and Peter Pickford the twins of the team where battling each other race by race from the Individual medley to the 50m Butterfly. Ellie Turner finished second in her age group (9years) for the 200 backcrawl and had several other personal best swims. The sisters of the group Sophie and Amy Chung did themselves proud competing in several events setting personal bests and achieving County qualification times for next year. Hannah Jibson picked up two bronze medals in the 200m Breastroke and Individual medley. Lewis Hawkins and Liam Hamilton both qualified for County events next year in the Frontcrawl with very strong swims from both boys. Ashley Holness-Wright also qualified for the counties with excellent times in his events. Molly Landolfi set personal bests in all her events. Matthew Chapman gained a personal best in his event.

Herts Development Meet 06 Watford Swimmers Results

ASA East Region, Youth Championships
29/04-01/05/ 2006

Lauren Simmonds, Matt King and Ben Dollard recently attended the East Region youth gala having attained Regional Qualifying times. Matt and Lauren swam at their personal best times in the 50m and 100m free which was excellent as it was their first major Long Course Gala. Ben Dollard managed to get to the finals in all three of his events and was magnificent in both the 100m Free and 100m Fly gaining Silver medals in both. In times of 1.01.05 for 100m Fly and 55.69 for 100m Free narrowly missing the national Qualifying time of 55.63. The medals were presented to Ben by Andy Morton east Region President and Watford Swimming Club member.
