...and there finishes the East Region Winter Short Course Meet for 2015.

Swimming against the creme de la creme of the Eastern Region our young squad swam well and posted some great PB's. It's hard going when swimming in such a meet where there are no age catagories but they swam positively and with pride. 13 PB's posted and some great positions achieved in the overall standings.

Now we have Ricky Pool back in working order the squads can swim with a little more freedom in their lanes and we can kick on into the next Championships in January....yes, thats right...Counties are just around the corner Kids!!! In between we have our own November last chance Qualifier and a couple of Arena Leagues to attend to. always...  Train Hard....Train Smart..... Train Train Train... Your Club Needs You !!!   ;-)

Presentation Evening is fast approaching and so is our November Open Meet. Please CLICK HERE for inforomation.

Good Luck to All our Budding Regionalists!!!!!

Another good weekend racing by our swimmers participating at the Luton Autumn Short Course Gala at Inspire Pool. Competing against clubs from as far as Romford, Ely, Chelsea & Westminster and Harlow, Watford put up some fantastic swims and great PB's. It was great also to see our swimmers supporting each other-shouting them on and encouraging them whilst awaiting their own races. Great TEAM Spirit shown !!

This weeks "special mention" goes out to Team Luton's Lucy Gee who in the 800m Freestyle race swam the whole 800m Butterfly, and rightly so receiving a massive round of applause by both fellow swimmers and the entire gallery. Time: 11m 40 sec. Pretty Decent i must say!

A Big thanks to Team Luton from Watford Swimming Club for running their Meet so smoothly this weekend.

Plenty of medals won this weekend at the Hemel Birthday Gala and some fantastic racing. Plenty of PB's especially from some of our emerging stars. Josie-- fantastic job ! A special mention goes out to Louis Hines in his 400m Freestyle race. The race of the meet for me as it showed  Louis's guts and determination not to be beaten. He is a Beast!!

Not forgetting those who witnessed the Fourth fastest 50 breast swim of all time in the UK by Lawrence Palmer of Putteridge(26.85). Only Adam Peaty has swum faster than that this year. Massive congratulations from WSC.

Abigail Green competed with the Herts Team at Ponds Forge today and they came 8th out of 40 participating Counties, their best ever result to date. Again a massive Well Done to all our Herts swimmers for such a great achievement. A great meet and a great atmosphere.

Overall a Fab weekend... See you all again for Team Luton's Gala next Saturday & Sunday ;-)

Well Done Swimmers !!

The Arena Premier League kicked off on Saturday Night at Hertfordshire Sports Village. Fielding a very young Team we had some great swims and some great PB's posted too. It is going to be a difficult competition this year as we all know but the swimmers performed brilliantly and showed great team spirit throughout the night. Onwards and upwards to the next Round. @#Proud to be a Watford Swimmer !!!! Results available HERE

Friday night saw a dozen or so of our swimmers competing for their relevent schools in the East Region Schools relay competition at Woodside. Francesca Pecci, Robyn Brett, Olivia Martin and Nathanial Olayomi all swam fantastically well as part of their own school squads in what turned out to be a very competitive and high quality event featuring a number of National and regional swimmers from throught the region. (there had to be at least 600 swimmers present!!). Rickmansworth School squad deserve a special mention as it was made up of 7 Watford swimmers and now one honoury member ( Go Vincent Wong!)--Izzy Williamson, Erin O'Meara, Ruby Blackbourne, Eleanor Craig, Ben Green, Lewis Shayler and Ethan Sutton. Great team spirit was shown and they swam excellently to produce three 4th places and a 7th out of over 30 teams. A special mention goes out to Eleanor who swam a great last leg of the medly relay in an unofficial Pb of 34.5.. shaving 2 1/2 seconds of her time from only a week ago!!!

We are working closely with Rickmansworth School to get back in the pool as soon as possible. Unfortunately we have been informed that they need to lay a new floor before they are able to re-open. They have contractors starting work on Monday and it will take about 2 weeks to complete. We appreciate this is very frustrating time for all School of Swimming and Squad swimmers but in order to negate any further closures this is the best and only option. We will know more next week as to when a start date will be but it will not be before half term.
