Preliminary reports from this last weekend show lots of great swims from our swimmers competing in the three seperate  Events.

Firstly our Peanuts A squad, somewhat depleted through injuries, showed great Team Spirit to secure the runners up position in the Finale of this years Event. Standing in 3rd position throughout the evening the Team pulled out all the stops and come the end of the relays, pipped COSTA to second place by a single point. Fantastic atmosphere and great support by the swimmers for their fellow Team mates. Well done to Hatfield for their win and to COSTA, Bishops Stortford, Potters Bar & Harpenden for providing such fantastic competition.

Our B Squad secured an overall 6th place in their first year in Division 2. A great series of swimming and cemented their position at this level. Onwards and upwards next year !!

Erin O'Meara & Ketan Rach swam for Hertfordshire at Norwich on Sunday in the Regional Inter County Championships. Both swam excellently and helped Herts finish 3rd Overall, just 5 points behind 2nd.

Finally we had our first session of Club Champs Sunday Afternoon. This encorporated all 50m Sprints and the 100m IM. Swimmers of all ages competed and some for their very first time. Again we had some fantastic swims and lots of great PB's.

Our special guest swimmer Kelvin Jones competed in the 50m Backstroke. He led out for the first 25m but lack of recent race experience told and he was beaten to the pads for 3rd Place in a time i'm sure he was very pleased with (30.51). Plenty of video analysis will be made available for him to tweak his last 25m and if anyone has a spare pair of Jammers to donate(waist size roughly 34-36inches) for Kelvins next swim,  the Club and spectators on mass would be most grateful. ;-)

This wednesday sees the continuation of Club Champs (Session 2) so we will see you there.

Following the email confirming our summer closure ( 8th August until the 22nd August ). Please find detailed below the sessions that will run for each squad between the 22nd August and the 5th September.

Please ensure you read this as it contains  amendments to what was communicated before.

Evening swimming as normal until 5th August
No Luton on the 7th August A to join B at Woodside 4-6 pm
Last Morning swim at Rickmansworth Friday 22nd July and last morning swim at Woodside Wednesday 3rd August.

Our two Peanuts Squads competed in the first round of the 2016 competition this past weekend.

The A SQUAD, reigning Division 1 Champions kicked off their campaign with a confident victory at Potters Bar against Verulam, Harpendon, Bishop Stortford, Stevenage and Hatfield B. Lots of great swims from experianced and unexperianced swimmers alike.

The B SQUAD, newly promoted from Div 3 after a fantastic year in 2015 again showed their worth by coming 3rd. They had a much depleted squad but still swam out of their skins to cement their presence in Division 2.

Onwards and Upwards for both Teams next Month for Round 2

Abi, Marcus, Cat, Sophie, Tori, Emily, Harrison, Louis and Lucy represent Watford at day 2 of Regionals 2016.

The morning session saw Marcus and Abi just miss out on finals in the 200m Breast and 100m Breast respectively, both unused reserves.

Louis Hines collected a well deserved  Bronze in the 50m Free(PB: 27.97) to go with his silver in yesterdays 100m Free in the S14 catagory. This crowning of a fantastic couple of weekends for Louis after returning from Nationals.

In the first event of the day, the 200m Butterfly, our "fly specialist" qualified for the final in 4th place. In true Harrison style he saved his best for last showing us what strength of character he has by surpassing expectations and achieving a Silver Medal in the final taking a further 4 seconds of his morning swim with a time of 2:22.60. We tried for an interview with Sarah but as of yet, she has not recovered enough from all the euphoria of the occasion. No doubt we shall all hear about it over the next week ;-).  Well done Harrison, awesome swimming.

Cat "it was only an orange juice" Holmes also swam well in the 100m Breast and was happy with her time of 1:23.98

Again, all our swimmers swam well and did the club proud. To qualify for Regionals is an achievement in itself so congratulations to you all.

A special mention to Emily Sellen who was swimming for the first time in competition at a 50m pool--nothing like going in at the deep end eh !!  We may only have a small presence but we held our heads up high. Onwards and Upwards.. Day 3 awaits

Well done to our swimmers at the East Regional 2016 Championships in Norwich today (day 1 of 3).
Sophie, Lucy, Abi, Harrison, Marcus, Louis and Emily all represented Watford today.
Special mentions go out to Harrison and Abi who both reached finals. Harrison, the 100m Fly final where he came 7th in a new PB of 1:04.30. Abi made finals in both 200m and 50m Breast where she PB'd both and came 5th and 6th respectively. Well done to you both.
More racing tomorrow including a special guest appearance by Cat in the 100m Breast. GO WATFORD !!!!!!!

After some great swimming WATFORD SC finished Runners Up to COSTA in this years Tape Trophy Gala last Saturday Night at The Furzefield Pool, Potters Bar. With a fantastic atmosphere provided by both audiance and fellow swimmers the night was a great way for some of our younger team to experiance a Gala for the first time. You all did brilliantly and hopefully with this under your belt your thirst for competitive swimming will grow stronger. Onwards and Upwards !!!!

Congratulations to our Herts Major League Team who won their 3rd Round Gala to ensure another Year in Division 1. All our swimmers pulled out fantastic swims to Top the B Final. Out of 49 races we secured Seventeen 1sts, Nine 2nds and Nine 3rds without a single DQ either. Your  Coach was very proud of you all!!
