Counties 2016 - Weekend 1

This past weekend saw 39 of our swimmers compete at the first weekend of the 2016 County Championships. During this first weekend we saw fantastic performances from all of our swimmers in the 200 IM and 100m individual strokes.

Saturday saw the best of our butterfly and backstroke swimmers battle it out, before our IM specialists took centre stage in the evening session, with Sunday's sessions giving our breaststroke and freestyle swimmers the chance to shine. Finalist places were achieved across the weekend by Jess Williamson, Izzy Williamson, Erin O'Meara, Gemma Nottage, Eleanor Craig, Lydia Zanetti, Eleanor Williams, Fiona Holmes, Abi Green, Leanne Carey, Charlie Taverner, Daniel Ord, Enzo Lim,Alex Williams, Ben Green, Ketan Rach, Nathaniel Olayomi, Lewis Shayler, Devesh Kapoor, Marcus Kemp and Harrison Lees.

11of these swimmers also took home medals as a result of their fast swimming - Jess, Erin and Eleanor Craig for the girls and Enzo, Devesh, Ben, Harrison, Marcus,Alex, Lewis and Dan for the boys. An amazing feat for the young talent in the club.

Overall the swimmers brought back 9 golds, 8 silvers, and 6 bronzes, with a further 38 4th-8th places achieved. 26 regional qualifying times were also achieved ( plus one of our coaches - Cat- achieving a regional time)  which is a fantastic result with a further 2 weekends of racing to go!
